Prescott Outdoors > Mom still sitting on the nest.
Prescott Outdoors > 4/27/08 - All of a sudden, while I was watching the nest, Mom got up and moved off the nest. She flew around the tree for a while then landed on a branch not far from the nest but never took her eye off of it. I think this is when the chick was hatched.

Prescott Outdoors > 5/10/08 - The nest was very deep, so even though Mom stayed near the nest it was a long time before I got a glimpse of the baby for the first time.
Prescott Outdoors > It was VERY clumsy and kept tripping over its HUGE claws. A couple times I thought for sure it was going to fall out of the nest. Every time it came up to the edge it was a total effort.. huffing and puffing and falling flat on its beak.
